[thelist] is Access enough?

I use Access 97, and this is what I've gathered: never heard of
number of tables being a limitation, can handle 40,000 records no
problem, you want no more than 4-5 concurrent users.

I've had two Access DBs go bad on me while in use on websites (which
were not awfully busy ... like 400-500 page views/day) so in my mind
the 4-5 concurrent users might even be liberal.

>If I've got a db with maybe 12-15 tables (many of which will not be related)
>and the largest table has about 20 columns with hundreds of rows, when does
>it get to be to much? At 1,000? 5,000? 50,000? 500?
>The saving grace in this project is that it will not be accessed by many
>people. Our audience might be 400 researchers around the world, so not very
>many at any one time will be on the site.
