Very basically you create a layer with some of your clips on one frame, some
on another and so on.  Hide these behind another layer with your preloading
graphic and change each frame of your preloader image to indicate the
change.  Flash only moves to the next frame when it has finished loading the
current one, so in this way it will step through each frame full of symbols
until all are loaded.  You can also do this more cleverly by using 'in frame
loaded' commands etc.
