[thelist] Web Stats: Analog & Analogx's QuickDNS

Howdy,

I use Analog to run my site stats through. Recently, I came across QuickDNS
from Analogx (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/qdns.htm),
which is supposed to speed up the DNS lookup process in parsing the site
stats. I have a simple question about QuickDNS, but three emails to the
author have gone unanswered.

So, I'm wondering if anyone here has used QuickDNS or if someone can answer
my question:

The readme file that comes with QuickDNS makes reference to a DNS file.
Where does this file come from? Assume I am starting from scratch and don't
already have a DNS file yet. If I understand the instructions properly,
QuickDNS looks for a DNS file that already exists.
If I use the "DNS WRITE" command in my Analog config file, it writes DNS
info to a file.
So, do I first need to run Analog and create a DNS file and *then* go back
and run QuickDNS?

TIA,
