I find topview is the definitive way of getting styles to ork, but in DW3 and 4 from the help... To edit an external CSS style sheet: 1 Open any document that is linked to the external CSS style sheet you want to change. 2 Do one of the following: Choose Window > CSS Styles or click CSS Styles in the Launcher. Then click the Open Style Sheet icon in the CSS Style palette. Choose Text > CSS Styles > Edit Style Sheet. 3 In the Edit Style Sheet dialog box, select the name of the external style sheet and click Edit. A second Edit Style Sheet dialog box appears that displays the styles in the external style sheet. 4 Edit the styles. See Creating a CSS style sheet. 5 Click Save when you have finished editing styles. but it doesnt work for me in DW3?? -----Original Message----- From: J. Q : how do I open a .css file in the code view? I have already added .css to the "open in code view preferences", but when I try and open the file it brings up the CSS Styles box instead. ----- DW4 comes with a bunch of software on the CD, one being Homesite, another being TopStyle Lite (freeware). I have found that TopStyle provides a great way to create and edit CSS files. There are many convenient settings, like to show only CSS1 compatible items if that is what you want. Anyhow, we ended up buying TopStyle because of its ease of use.
