[thelist] streaming ... security risk?

Hi -- the Mac system team where I work has announced
that no one can use streaming audio/video, download music, etc.
on the company computers because:

a. it is a security risk and
b. it slows down the network
(not just the Internet connection, but the whole system).

Is there even a grain of truth in this?

I've never heard of this. (but until recently I also hadn't
heard about html email security issues)

If anyone can point me to articles about streaming & security,
that would be great!
