You need to connect to the MySQL db server...telnet is one way to do that,
but phpMyAdmin is way easier...

You can download phpMyAdmin here:
http://www.phpwizard.net/projects/phpMyAdmin/

Then, upload it to your server...modify the config file with your own
username/password, and see if that works.
