Plus, you have to use client-side script to close it anyway. And, if
you open a window with anything other than client-side script, when
you attempt to close it with client-side script, many (if not all)
browsers will present the user with an alert similar to "The
application is attempting to close the current window. Will you allow
it?  [Yes] [No]" which is ugly and sounds worse to the user than it
really is.
