Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

Ah, but then CSS will disappear and instantly be replaced by something
even more confusing.

Cheers
Martin
(with apologies to the shade of Douglas Adams)

<tip type="Change control">
Many people have had the experience of a client adding "just one little
thing" during the project build which doubles (or more) the workload, and
without the client accepting that it will impact one or more of quality,
delivery
date or final bill.

It is *essential* that when you have agreed the scope and quotation with
the
client that the scope is then under the most rigid of change controls.

New scope can be added, but only after going through a signoff process with
the client in which there is a thorough impact assessment of the work on
quality, delivery date and fees, and to which they explicitly (and
contractually)
agree.

Managing your clients' expectations - your key to success.
