Coming in a bit late here, I've looked into this, and came across Arles
Image Web Page Creator http://www.digitaldutch.com. This is extremely
well-engineered, and has the advantage of resizing images to a maximum H and
W simultaneously, something not possible with PS6. Very configurable,
including image compression, fully templated (they include some egs)and you
can easily incorporate eg DW templates. You can also put titles and/or logos
across your images at varying levels of transparency which is useful.
Costs $49, but there's a fully operable demo on the site. Current version is
4.6, so they've sorted out the bugs. Their service is amazing, I sent off an
order on a Sunday and got the reg key back the same day! I am currently in
the process of putting up an extensive gallery of professional
photographers' portfolios and the national annual collections of the
Australian photographers organisation (ACMP) as a pro bono so I felt the
need to have some automation. Of course, a database approach would be
preferable, but they simply haven't got the money and I haven't got the
time...
