Political decisions are part of it. Our new webmaster is a Microsoft Man...
And Microsoft may be donating some money to develop a connection to our
collections management database.
(did I mention I work for a Museum??) w/ the proviso that we use their
products.

If you don't mind me asking, why are they moving from Linux to NT? Why not
keep Linux or move to 2000?

But to answer part of your question, IIS does support server side includes.
Not sure about the server environment variables.

It has been ordained to me from those up high that we must be assimilated
into the Microsoft fold.

Our site relies heavily on virtual include statements and also on Apache
server environment variables.

(eg: <!--#set var="title" value="titlename" -->  <!--#include
virtual="/global/head.shtml" -->)

I see no mention of server environment variables or virtual server side
includes in My
IIS 4 book. Are these supported features in IIS4 (what about later
versions?) or am I going
to have to rewrite these statements to accommodate this switch?

TIA malcolm
