Well, as someone else mentioned, Gator is marketed as a password wallet.  I 
installed a program that had Gator packaaged with it -- i.e, I never 
intended to download Gator, it came as part of a shareware package.  Every 
hour or so, it would nag me to install Gator to help me remember my 
passwords, and never *once* did any of the screens mention that it would 
block or replace ads.  I finally figured out how to get it off my machine.

That's pretty close to slipping into your system at night while you are asleep.
