I can see spyware being a problem for end users. From a web developer
perspective, I'm more concerned about another person/company defacing my content. I do not need anyone else to act as an editor on my site.
I believe all these overlay technologies should be opt-ins for the delivering
web sites, not just the consumers. Last I checked, copyright law allows me
to set who can republish/repurpose my work during the copyright period. Gator
is just the latest in a growing line of Rude Boys who strive to steal as
much as they can from others until someone makes them stop.
