on the client side:
i know this could also be done using advanced javascripting, hidden forms and/or cookies (look for the book 'javascript and jscript' by james jaworski for an idea)
but personally, i'll go for flash and flash actionscripting for added interactivity and 'fun-factor'.

but you'll have to learn either perl-cgi or asp or php or whatever if you want to track and record scores and logs on the server side.
