Maybe your .dbx files are corrupted. I'd back up any important emails, then
from OE delete the folders that are problematic. Then I go to the OE folder
on your HD and delete any remaining .dbx files with the same names as the
folders you just deleted from within OE.
If you need to, I believe you can also delete the default inbox.dbx file and
it will be automatically re-created for you when you re-launch the program.
