Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

It's understandable that changes like this may be put on hold.

It's very easy to design from scratch to support a wide range of browsers
and disabilities - particularly if it's just a small part of an existing
budget.

It's much harder to justify re--engineering what you've already got for a
small
number of customers. Re-engineering is hard, and getting business
sponsorship
for something they don't understand is harder.

I would expect that it will go on a change request list which will be the
basis
for the next redesign. If supporting Opera makes it up the list (and I
suspect that
it will only do so as a byproduct of another change like increasing
accessibility
to comply with the DDA), it'll get done then.

In blue-chips, 'in the next development project' is the same thing as
'straight
away', as both mean 'as soon as possible'.

Cheers
Martin
