Hi,
I was wondering, does anyone know what has to be set to allow Win98 to
access shared folders on a win2000 machine?
Currently a passwordbox with the machinename already filled and grayed out
pops up, and any passwords I type in are not accepted.
Security is not important in this case (personal network).
Thanks,
Richard.
<tip type=doctype>
Mozilla, Netscape 6.x IE5/Mac and IE6 PC have what is called a "quirks"
mode, this makes them less strict, and a bit more backwards-compatible.
The developer can activate the "quirks" mode by either leaving out the
doctype all-together, or leaving out the url in it, like this:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
If the developer uses the full doctype like this:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/loose.dtd">
the above browsers operate in "strict" mode, which might give some
unexpected layout results.
