Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

Hey Alan

Good to see you back!

Small addendum to your tip - be very careful about what expectations
you set when you bring your creative director along, lest the client start
assuming that they're going to get all the 'off the top of the head' ideas
before they've been through the normal creative and pragmatic filtering

Make sure anything that the creative person says is very, very heavily
before (preferably by them) before they say a word.

Bluesky thinking which gets into the client's head tends to be very, very
expensive. Although as long as it's expensive for the client and not for
that's not too bad.

It's good to be back!

All you project managers...bring your creative director along with you
on the preliminary meeting with the client. When the client starts
talking about what they want on their site, the your creative person can
immediately start dreaming up ideas, without having the client's needs
filtered through you first.
