Hi All

If your market includes non-European countries, this is certainly an issue, with the surname sometimes not existing. I haven't yet come across a situation where there is a surname but no firstname. An example would be with Indonesia, where many people only have a firstname (but not all). 

As an additional thought, in many East-Asian countries many people will associate firstname with surname due names being the opposite way around: some people adjust for it when using English and others don't, so if this is important (eg for personalisation, mail etc) it needs to be clearly labelled.
