What do you want to use it for? That often determines what "good" is.

One way to start comparing them is to look at the output format you'll be
delivering to... people going to feature-length films have different needs
than those making a digital-video file, or making a GIF animation, or doing
realtime games.

If you'll be using this for web work (reasonable enough assumption!), then
here's info on the current level of W3D export in various modelers:

Different modelers have different abilities to create multi-resolution
meshes, and motion paths and texture options are among some of the other
variances among packages when going for realtime web interactivity in
Shockwave 3D.
