Yowza - if you want searchability, you're going to need transcripts (or
at least summaries) of the broadcasts.

The key is to get them linked... which is the best reason to have a
sitemap.

Sitemap > News > Broadcast Archives > Program Summaries
  (for one example)

and you could in this particular case have a similar trail except that the
homepage replaces the sitemap.

You can then use mod_rewrite, ErrorDocument, or whatever else suits your
fancy to actually serve the content... but it's gotta be something that a
crawler's gonna understand.  *grin*
