Susan,
I am running FMPro on a Mac... A quick check in the help section on
exporting special characters says that you WILL lose the character because
FMP does not include font information in the export.

It offers two solutions - none of which sound good to me.
1. Format the data after import
2. Use style tags in your FMP fields that your word processor or page layout
program can understand.
