Or attack it the other way, leading with the benefits:
"I reduced the filesize of this image which will speed up the load time [by
xxxx].
Do you notice a difference?"

This approach is particularly useful if the sponsor has heard any messages
about long download times being A Bad Thing, especially if they've set
unrealistic requirements for total download time.
