Years ago there was a Director Player for Windows and one for Mac which
could be used to create the movie on one platform and port it to the other.
Not very efficient for production, but it worked.

You could search around and see if you can locate the players - they were
freely distributable and can likely be found on some of your older
cross-compatible CDs. (It might also require dumbing down your version of
Director for compatibility.)

I know Macromedia is no longer supporting the players, claiming that the
cost of purchasing system/software for each platform upfront is less than
the troubleshooting.
