decades
of *real* research before you start writing the whitepapers...

I wouldn't say that this was a quick, easy route:

If it were easy, anyone *could* do it, but then, I don't see *that* many of
the
large number of very talented people I know being hailed as gurus.

And if you actually *read* his work, the stress again and again is on
testing. You
will not know for certain what will be the most successful result for your
site
until you test it. His 'guru' pronouncements are good defaults if you're
too lazy
or under-budgeted to do it properly.

(fwiw, Jakob does say that he wouldn't expect even a top class site to
slavishly
follow 100% of his recommendations, because different sites with different
needs
*will* do things differently)

Please, people, think carefully.
