Installing perl modules isn't always something you need to cajole your ISP
into doing. One of the first useful things I learned about perl was "use
lib". With that statement, you are no longer slave to whatever module
structure someone else (be they ISP or CPAN) decides to impose.

You *do* of course need to check whether your ISP prohibits you from adding
perl modules to your own site, but that's sometimes easier than getting
them to change their own.

Or not. Not too long ago I asked a hosting company of a website I'd
recently been hired to maintain for the list of modules they had installed,
as I had a different version, and some of mine had depndencies that weren't
in their version. I was simply seeking to know which modules I was going to
need to get older versions of so I could co-exist with their installation.
Minutes(!) later I got an email saying they'd updated the server I was
working on to a later version of perl, but if I still needed the list,
here's where I could find it.

Some folks are pure fun to work with, eh?

Have fun,
