Hmm, I wonder how often I would visit My-Yahoo, eBay and Amazon if they
forced a left-aligned 720-wide table on me. Aren't liquid tables almost
a no-brainer with English-ish languages (why would anyone designing an
AccessibleSite want to force content alignment on me?).

However, note that things get a bit trickier when you work with
double-byte languages (Chinese/Japanese) because there is typically no
space between characters, so a liquid design may barf and end in a
neverending horiz scroll. So it is more prevalent to force table sizes
this side of the world (Table Communism).
