i know.  i was using splash pages as an example of something that people
thought were "cool" and "hip" but didn't pay off like they suspected.  i'm
not saying the same applies in all cases for "hip" and "cool" uses of flash,
but there's certainly something to be taken from that.

yeah, you totally missed me point.  lemme see if i can find an example of
what i'm talking about.

less than 5 minutes later (it's sick how easy it is to find sites like this)

enjoy the wait before you are given some navigation to work with.

now, see how long it takes you to get to the online monitor adjustment tool
(hint, it's under specials).  think about how long it'd take if there
weren't any gratuitous transition animations.

now, go from the online monitor adjustment tool to the showroom.  see how
long it takes because of the transition animations?  it's crazy.
unfortunately this sort of thing is all too common in all-flash sites.
