[thelist] ASP connection problems

Hi Howard,

Yeah - I can connect to the database using other applications like SQL+,
Brio, and that 'Oracle ODBC Test Utility' I mentioned.

For some reason I just can't seem to get to it from ASP.  The connection
string syntax seems to be correct - since I can email the page to other
folks and it works for them.  Something is just 'wronky' with my
machine.

I do have two machines on my desk and they each have different IP
addresses. As far as I can tell I don't have two addresses assigned to
either machine.

I had two IP addresses on different gateways) and somehow that was
preventing me from resolving the database host name.
