You see that is the beauty of tabs, some people think 3, 4 or 7 spaces
looks nicer. If the file i tabed you can change the tab size in your
editor. So everyone is happy. Sort of like css vs. font tag. Separate
content from style :-)
If you use UNIX you will find lots of scripts that will convert code to
fit your coding style, and for the rest there is vim ;-)

The default tab size is eight spaces. To make VIM display a tab as 4
spaces do:
:set tabstop=4
</tip>
Oh, and please don't start the "how to place the {}'s" flame war... lets
just say taste differs
