[thelist] _vti_cnf?

Hi all,

I am updating a website, and there is all these mysterious directories
called "_vti_cnf" within each subdir of the site?  I think they are put
there by Dreamweaver?  I have recoded the site using Homesite, so do I need
these directories anymore?

Or are they part of IIS?
