[thelist] targeting: another dimension

After reading through about 70% of the posts, here are the main questions I
get out of the discussion:

1. Can alternative presentation of information using Javascript, Flash etc.
actually improve a visitor's experience on your site and does that improved
experience outweigh the loss imposed by limitations due to the alternative
form of presenation?

2. Given that you have identified your audience, what percentage of loss (if
any?) is acceptable due to implementation of technologies or code that will
not render correctly or at all in browsers?

3. Does it take more time to implement a fully cross-browser,
cross-functionality compatable site, and if so how much and is it worth the
money?

I don't feel like I can do an apt job of consolidating the answers, so if
these questions pique your interest you'll just need to go back and read the
thread.
