[thelist] Simple Database Embedding

Morn' folks:

Due to the redesign of my client's website I decided to embed databases in
order to reduce my efforts keeping his data synchronized and enable him to
update his data by himself.

So far, so hoopy.

To get to the bottomlines:

1.) I wonder which DBMS to choose. I am not sure if CF is the one to choose
or MySQL in combination with PHP. I want to enable my client to update his
data himself. In a
primary thought I thought of *.dbf or *.mdb. What do the Database-Experts
around here
think?

2.) Is there anyway to extract the data stored in the db(s) and put into
webpages, i. e. everytime the db is updated the pages containing the
queries show the same result?

Many thanks in Advance,

Jakob Dölling

To Unix or not to Unix. That is the question whether 'tis nobler in the
mind to suffer slings and arrows of vast documentation or to take arms
against a sea of buggy OS and by raping the support lines end then?
