Close but not quite. From the W3C Guidelines:
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#guidelines
Include a space before the trailing / and > of empty elements, e.g. <br />,
<hr /> and <img src="karen.jpg" alt="Karen" />. Also, use the minimized tag
syntax for empty elements, e.g. <br />, as the alternative syntax <br></br>
allowed by XML gives uncertain results in many existing user agents.

HTML elements, such as <img></img>, <base></base>, <input></input>...
I must admit I haven't really delved into XHTML or XML much yet, but my
limited understanding of those technologies does not include the rules
above.
Is this page correct?
