While this may still be the situation for most of us Mac users (unless
you go to a design conference or a professional audio workshop, in which
case, Macs abound), I've never really had a problem with it. There are
plenty of good cheap programs for cross-platform translations (for both
Macs and Windows machines). And even though I have such software
installed on my system, I can't think of the last time I had to use it
since apps tend these days to be so flexible in their formatting
options. It's just a matter of knowing the end purpose.
