[thelist] [admin notice, please read]

i just want to be a bit pre-emptive here, not alarmist...

i got a message that was quite clearly spam, but as its return
address, uses thelist (thelist at lists.evolt.org)... this message came
through as HTML *and* had an attachment (122k)... the subject
was "A  WinXP patch", and the attachment is most assuredly a
virus...

i just want to remind folks that mail from thelist comes out as plain
text, not HTML, and all attachments are stripped... if you get
anything from thelist address that is either HTML or has an
attachment, it is most likely something you'd be better off deleting...

the post looked like this:
