Indeed. A print stylesheet, specifically. Any page that uses colors other
than black on white should offer a print stylesheet that *does* specify
black on white. And while you're at it you can use the same stylesheet to
hide sidebars and navigation menus, creating a "print-friendly" page without
the need for two versions.
And, to further the debate, I seem to remember seeing an article that said
black on white wasn't actually the best combination, because the brightness
of all that white could cause eye strain faster. I think they gave a certain
combination of greens that provided the best readability in their studies.
I would agree that black on white is better than white on black, though.
