music requires a plug-in, AFAIK...

it's been so long since i've tried bg music, though, and when i did,
it was a gag (monkeys and the like)...

anyway, i'd consider stuffing the MP3 into a Flash flick, and
making it an extremely small Flash movie that consists of a
play/pause/stop button...

the user isn't forced to listen if he/she doesn't want to, and you can
stream it via Flash, a plug-in they are likely to have...
