it'll go pretty much as low as you wanna go.

should have mentioned that there's nothing in there to keep nn4 from horking
on the special css color and font names.

when that's fixed nn4 should treat it as a normal <pre></pre>

i was expecting them to render a horizontal scrollbar too (except for ie/mac
and opera), but they don't.  anybody have any ideas?

i was really hoping to get this working in nn6/moz, but had no luck without
jumping through *lots* of hoops.  first, i had to use a couple of libraries
that added support for things that nn6/moz doesn't support that i need for
this -- innerText, replaceNode to name two.  i didn't like the added weight,
especially when i found out that moz thinks it's smarter than me and
includes the line numbers in the copy-n-paste making it completely unusable.
so, it gets a normal <pre></pre> block.
