If you like transparency effects take a look at the stuff you can do with
PNGs. Unfortunately IE on Windows still doesn't support PNG
alpha-transparent backgrounds, but both Mozilla and IE5 on Mac handle them
just fine. My favourite demo of this is here:
http://www.panic.com/audion/faces.php - click on the little magnifying
glass under each thumbnail to pop up a full size alpha-transparent theme
preview which you can drag around the page.
