The table is held together almost entirely with CSS.  If you don't
see the table then fine.  The book is entirely a table using CSS to
put different parts of the total image in place.

I am on a Mac and I would appreciate any Windows or Linux/UNIX
browser comments if the table breaks and does not show the background
or if it shows table lines.


<tip>Netscape 6.x on the Mac and a CSS problem.  If CSS defines a
background for a cell and the size of the cell, NS 6.x will not
adhere to the CSS UNLESS something(img tag or text) is in the cell.
So for a fix to make a cell in NS display correctly add the
non-breaking space &nbsp; between td and not td.  Netscape then
produces the look like IE5.  <td class="NSjoke">&nbsp;</td> </tip>
