[thelist] helptext attribute?

It is IE only and basically makes ALT text appear over an item (usually
form fields) when the mouse is hovered over it for more than a few seconds.
One of the few 'innovations' I can say I actually like from the Microsoft
camp and I for one would like to see it become a standard.

As Fernando said, no, there isn't. Another possibility, however, is that
this is an Internet Explorer-only "expando" property [1] -- essentially a
custom property for an element that can be applied through script or as a
custom HTML attribute. Obviously, this is a proprietary feature, and won't
validate. But if you are designing for an IE-only Intranet, sometimes they
can come in handy.
