Unless the password file ended in .css, there should be no issues.

I did a similar task a while back for my site, only instead of predetermined
stylesheets, I used inline styles stored in a database so that people could
customize every single element of the page to their liking.  It took a bit
more work to do, but was very effective for those people who didn't like any
of the predefined themes.
