[thelist] which video format for clips on a site?

Hi there,

I have a client who wants to put video clips onto their site, taken from a
promotional video (VHS).

I wonder what format these should be in, and if they should be streaming or
not.

I also don't know if streaming video needs anything special to deliver it, or
if it's just the way you embed it into the page?...

Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
All the articles I've found look well out of date.
