Hey everybody,

If a site that currently has its DNS managed by the registrar (such as
register.com), what's the general scenario to setting up a brand new DNS and
transferring DNS control the new pair of servers. Here's by best guess so
far:

1. Go to the current DNS provider and add records for dns1.domain.com and
dns2.domain.com to point to the IP address for the two new boxes.
2. Install and set up the DNS service on those two boxes. Establish
forward and reverse lookup zones for domain.com.
3. Wait for the subdomains (dns1.domain.com and dns2.domain.com) to
propagate.
4. Go back to the registrar and change the DNS servers from the current DNS
provider to the new subdomains.
5. Everything works ok.

Is my guess correct?

TIA,
