Interesting exercise.

I did notice slight variations from your PS findings:
#1 B2D2DF
#2 B3DEB1
#3 DDB89D
using DotColor 3.0 on IE6/Win2kPro, on both my 17" Samsung 700NF
monitors (that, incidently, I CAN'T manage to make match). I also did a
screen shot and checked the colors with Micrografx Picture Publisher
10... with the same results.

I suspect though, that these minor shifts may be due to the images being
JPEG. Did you try a similar test using optimized GIF images?
