[thelist] PDF link behaviour

Is it easy to override the browser's default behaviour of displaying a
linked PDF in the browser window, and force a download instead? (I'm talking
about an automatic method; I want to avoid having to provide "Right-click:
Save As" type of instructions.)

Are there potential problems to doing this? Platform-related issues?
