Hi,

----- Original Message -----
From: "Daniel Fascia" <danfascia at totalise.co.uk>

<I dont think it works properly, it certainly doesnt
<render my site at www.fascianewmedia.co.uk the
<way that google displays it...

That's the whole idea, it's a predictor :o)

When Google last spidered your page, it looked like this:
http://www.google.be/search?q=cache:prtC5hjIu_sC:www.fascianewmedia.co.uk/

Now it looks like this:
http://www.fascianewmedia.co.uk/

So the next time google spiders your page, your listing on URL will look
something like this:

fascia new media: Edinburgh freelance web design, consultancy
home clients FEAU Barnacles Edinburgh University: CAL EC Executive
Search Edinburgh University: Sports Union about us contact Our websites
get results fascia new media is a design orientated web consultancy ...

instead of the current listing that looks like this:

fascia new media: Edinburgh freelance web design, consultancy
We offer web design and consultancy services and are based in Edinburgh but
work with clients internationally. The best web
designers are always too busy to have their own sites. Please take a look at
a few sites we have designed The Food & ...

I definitely find your old listing better than the new predicted one.
Also, if you look at the other links the spider found on your page:
http://www.gritechnologies.com/tools/spider.go?q=www.fascianewmedia.co.uk

you'll notice they all look the same, the same title, and the same text.
I think giving each page an explanatory title, and some unique text at the
top of the page would improve these listings.

Aside from that, I'm sure you're right that the spider can be vastly
improved, as more tests are done, to provide the most reliable result.

Cheers,
Richard.

PS, I noticed that evolt.org will have the same issue, currently it is
listed like this:

evolt.org : Workers of the Web, Evolt!
Choose a category... ...
Description: Community for web developers, promoting the mutual free
exchange of ideas, skills and experiences.

Soon it will be:

evolt.org : Workers of the Web, Evolt!
$6,279.78 $10,500.00 The success of evolt.org has brought critical costs
Description: Community for web developers, promoting the mutual free
exchange of ideas, skills and experiences.

Not sure which is best :o)
