The validator does not know what you mean when you say "onFocus" any more
than when you say "sdLi1C9qE".

The reason why you can't have mixed case is because XML is case-sensitive.
So when W3C made HTML (which is case-insensitive) into XHTML, they decided
to make everything lowercase.
