Well, if the image, when shrunk down to thumbnail size becomes totally
incomprehensible, sometimes it makes sense to use a teaser instead. I ran
into this dilemma when doing a site for an architect. Some of the images of
the buildings just looked like brown squares when shrunk down to thumbnail
size, so I considered re-cropping them and using teasers. I ended up
enlarging the size of the thumbnails instead because on some of the smaller
buildings it didn't make sense and on some of the buildings there wasn't
anything terribly interesting or emblematic to pull out as a teaser.

I like calling them teasers. It's a good name.
