Rob, (and everyone who hasn't thought of this already)

If you think that's neat, imagine identical sites on two different
servers with THE SAME domain name, and on the test server, you've gone
into the hosts file and pointed the domain name at the test server's IP,
so that even absolute links still stay on the test server. This is
especially great if you've got a multi-site environment, such as an
ecommerce site with a "https://secure.mydomain.com" area that you send
users off to, but want to keep on your testing server when testing. Of
course, this does mean that testing has to be done ON the testing server
(meaning the tester has to be logged into the testing server, using it
as a client), but it's solved a LOT of headaches for me.

Happy testing,
Tab
